Hi there!
Have you got any great ideas for promoting the project? The number of sales is directly linked to the number of listens, obviously, so the main problem we have is getting people to know about the project and to listen to the songs, so if you have any ideas for getting the project to a wider audience, please post them here.
Thanks.

OK, here are some of the ideas I have had that are easy to put into practice. 1. If you are registered to any other forums, add www.virtualqueenproject.com as your website, and in your signature if allowed. 2. Use the banner (the link code for which is available from the main website, on the left on the front page) on any website, or myspace account you manage. The banner can be seen in the top header of the forums. It costs you nothing, but will raise awareness of the project. You can also use the image in forums, if they allow linked in images. 3. Send an email to all of your family and friends telling them about the project and how great it is. If you are a musician and are involved with the project, they are even more likely to want to buy the final songs. 4. If you have a website, embed the trailer video we have placed on youtube.com (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWgCogjQpPA) The code for embedding in your site is available on the youtube page. If you have a youtube account, comment and favourite the video. The video sums up in 1 minute 30 seconds what the project is all about. 5. Also if you have a website, add a link to the Virtual Queen website with a brief description of the project's aims. 6. Tell people about the project. Although the project is virtual, we all live in the real world and people pay more attention to face-to-face conversations than emails! OK, so none of the above is rocket science, but it gives you some ideas of how you can easily make this project grow and raise more money for the Mercury Phoenix Trust. If you have any other ideas, let us know!

We may need a few incentives to keep things moving on the download front - If we could get someone to donate a piece of memorabilia we could enter anyone who downloads the tracks into a competition to win the item.
We could also find out from 7 Digital if they know how long the longest No1 spot on their site is - we could have a campaign to stay longest at #1.
